My journey with Minneapolis South High School's football team has come to an end.
For the past three months I followed the city team through the struggles and triumphs of a 4-4 season. What I observed, though, focused on much more than just wins and loses.
The challenges of an urban environment combined with a coach's radical dream for a better South, created a compelling story of a program fighting for survival.
Multimedia producer McKenna Ewen and photographer Jerry Holt followed along throughout the journey capturing the amazing visuals of this story. Below is a video teaser of the Star Tribune exclusive.
Find the four stories, several photo galleries and a full-length video at www.startribune.com/southfootball. And be sure to pick up a copy of Tuesday's newspaper. It will feature print only material and a special double truck layout devoted to the project.
