Top performer winner

Emmett Johnson, Holy Angels. The junior had an impressive showing in the Stars' 42-14 victory against DeLaSalle on Oct. 23. Johnson ran for 178 yards and three touchdowns, averaging just over 11 yards per carry. He also returned three punts for 91 total yards. His fourth TD of the game — his third in less than four minutes of playing time — came on a 52-yard return to close out the first half.  Johnson rounded out his stat sheet with 145 yards on kickoff returns to give him a total of 414 yards in the game.

Top performer candidates

Connor Develice, Andover. Develice led the Huskies to their third consecutive win with a 43-7 defeat of Buffalo on Saturday. The junior quarterback threw five first-half touchdowns — three were for more than 35 yards. He amassed 313 total passing yards, averaging more than 28 yards per completion.

Trey Feeney, Moorhead. The Spuds offense produced its second 56-point effort in three games, led by Feeney. The senior quarterback finished with 20 completions and 321 passing yards — 12 of his passes went to wide receiver Brady Walthall for 244 yards — in the win. He recorded six TDs last Friday in the Spuds' 56-12 win against Sartell-St. Stephen. Feeney, who has 955 passing yards and 16 touchdowns through the first half of this pandemic-shortened season, is atop the state leaderboard in passing yards and TDs.

Terrance Kamara, Minneapolis North. The senior found success on Saturday in the Polars’ 47-14 victory over Mound Westonka — both on the ground and through the air. Kamara had 22 carries for 250 yards, averaging more than 11 yards per carry. He scored two touchdowns — each of which came on 60-plus yard runs. Kamara added 121 receiving yards on three receptions, including a 78-yard TD catch.

Eli King, Caledonia. The junior quarterback seemed to do it all Saturday in the Warriors’ 66-7 rout of Dover-Eyota. King threw for 138 yards and three touchdowns — including a 46-yard completion for his longest TD pass. He added a 70-yard rushing touchdown and recorded 91 yards on four punt returns, including a 48-yard return for a TD in the first quarter.
