Ed Perrault Head Coach - QB/LB St. Paul Academy · 2012

Bio

Personal:
Coach Perrault grew up in Naytahwaush, MN, which is on the White Earth Indian Reservation. He attended Mahnomen High School and was an honor graduate in the spring of 2003. In December of 2007, he recieved his B.A. in Elementary Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. Following graduation, he held teaching and coaching jobs in several northern Minnesota schools before moving to Minneapolis when his fiance was accepted into dental school at the University of Minnesota. In addition to his football duties, Coach Perrault is currently the throws coach for St. Paul Academy's track and field team and the mathematics instructor at Nawayee Center School in South Minneapolis.

Football Background:
Coach Perrault grew up around the game of football and likes to consider himself a student of the game. He remembers being told early in life by both his father and coaches that "you can never know enough" about the game of football. It was this belief that helped him become a three year starter for coaches Ken Baumann & John Clark at Mahnomen, a perennial football powerhouse. Coach Perrault went on to play two years of football in college, missing his sophomore and junior seasons at Concordia due to a knee injury. Following college, he played several years of amateur or semi-pro football.

His coaching resume includes stints as a coordinator in all three phases of the game: offensive, defensive, and special teams. He has been a position coach for quarterbacks, runningbacks, linebackers, and defensive line. He served as a program coordinator for Frazee Youth Football in Frazee, MN. Coach P has also been a counselor at several youth football camps in northern MN.

Coach Perrault says one of his proudest accomplishments as a coach is making it to the section championship game in both years he was the defensive coordinator for a nine-man team in Waubun, MN.
