Oct. 14: The Zephyrs look to stay atop the East Metro District Red Division standings against the Wolfpack.

Perfection is something many teams dream about, but only a few realize, which is proving true again this year as there are a handful of squads remaining with a chance to achieve an undefeated season as the regular season winds down.

Mahtomedi is one of nine teams in Class 5A with an unblemished record, and it puts that mark on the line this week in an East Metro District Red Division battle with Park of Cottage Grove.

The Zephyrs (6-0) are tied with South St. Paul atop the league standings, and their successful season has helped them shoot to No. 4 in Class 5A in the Associated Press state high school football poll.

After winning four straight, the Wolfpack (5-1) lurk a single game back in the league standings and create a contest on Friday that cannot be overlooked.

As Mahtomedi eyes maintaining its perfect record and gaining steam toward a league title, Park looks to continue its hot streak in a matchup that has all the makings of a Top Game of the Week.
