Sept. 11: The Orioles and Eagles have a history of close games as former Northwest Suburban Conference foes.

When longtime football powerhouse Totino-Grace joined the Northwest Suburban Conference in 2012, it provided Osseo with a high-level opponent to compete against each year. The results did not disappoint as the teams have had some close games since then.

Aside from the Orioles' 28-14 regular-season victory in 2013, the other three games have been decided by seven points or less.

While the new district scheduling meant the demise of the old conference, it has kept the rivalry alive. Both teams are members of the West Metro North subdistrict, and both are 2-0 in league play entering this matchup.

Osseo has impressed early on and is ranked No. 2 in Class 6A in The Associated Press state high school football poll. Totino Grace is No. 6 in Class 6A, with the only blemish being a loss to No. 1-6A Eden Prairie in the season opener.

With the Orioles and Eagles vying for the top spot in the district standing, and with their history of playing very competitive games, there is no doubt this is our Top Game of the Week.
