Football conferences across Minnesota will be replaced next year by district groupings of teams to make regular-season schedules. Here are 13 metro-area conferences and their football winners or title-game matchups:
Independent Metro Athletic: Providence Academy has clinched.
Lake: Hopkins at Eden Prairie for the title.
Metro East: South St. Paul has clinched.
Metro West: Chanhassen and Chaska are tied for the lead at 4-1. Bloomington Jefferson, Cooper and Benilde-St. Margaret’s are each one game back. A five-way tie is possible.
Minneapolis City: Minneapolis North has clinched.
Minnesota River: Watertown-Mayer can win it outright with a victory over Belle Plaine.
Mississippi 8: Rogers wins it with a victory over St. Michael-Albertville. A loss and a Chisago Lakes victory over St. Francis would mean a three-way tie.
Northwest Suburban: Totino-Grace at Osseo for the West division title. Centennial has clinched a share of the North crown; Elk River could earn a share by beating Blaine.
St. Paul City: St. Paul Central has clinched its fifth consecutive title.
South Suburban: Rosemount wins it outright with a victory over Shakopee.
Suburban East: Mounds View wins outright if it beats Stillwater.
Tri-Metro: Holy Angels can win it with a victory over St. Anthony.
Wright County: Hutchinson has clinched the East, New London-Spicer the West.
