St. Michael-Albertville shuts down Big Lake

Hornets can't muster points against the Knight's defense

St. Michael-Albertville turned a beautiful chance into a beautiful win against Big Lake on Friday, Sept. 20. It started on a 45-yard drive capped off by Jackson Greewaldt's 15 yard touchdown run making it 7-0 in favor of the Knights. St. Michael-Albertville’s defense had the first big defensive play, when a tipped pass got intercepted by Joe Kilian with 2:23 left in the first.

The offense of St. Michael-Albertville also had a big game passing and rushing. With 3:44 left in the first half, a 22 yard pass from Jackson Greewaldt to Dallas Frreman led to a 2-yard touchdown blast into the end zone by Chris Kartes making the score 14-0 at the half.  

Dallas Freeman had a huge impact as well catching a long 30 yard touchdown pass from Greenwaldt to Freeman making the score 21-0. The final score of the game was Noah Evans rushing for a 5 yard score with 9:38 left in the final frame. With 2:58 left in the game the Knights recovered a fumble to seal the win.
