Blooming Prairie defense stops opponent's passing game to win the game

Blooming Prairie was superior against St. Clair 40 to 13 at McFarlin Field in Blooming Prairie on Friday. Blooming Prairie scored 13 unanswered points to take the lead in the first quarter. In the second quarter, St. Clair outscored their opponents, however Blooming Prairie kept its lead. Halftime saw Blooming Prairie up 19 to 7. In the third quarter Blooming Prairie outgunned their opponents by 1 point and added to their advantage. Blooming Prairie scored 14 straight points in the fourth quarter padding its lead and winning the game.

The Blooming Prairie offense owned the passing and rushing game. John Rumpza got 146 yards on 9 completions out of 17 passes attempted. On the receiving end Weston Fiebiger picked up three receptions for 82 yards and had one touchdown grab. Scott Romeo carried the ball through the defense six times for a total of 39 yards. Romeo got over the goal line once.

The Blooming Prairie special teams helped win by scoring one touchdown. Michael Thomas scored one touchdown on a kick return.

St. Clair's offense came up short.

The Blooming Prairie defense contributed to the victory. They recovered two fumbles, bringing one of them back for a TD.

Blooming Prairie added to their current win streak of three games and ended the game with a record of 5-1.
