Minneapolis Washburn snatches 35 point lead in 1st quarter, goes on for a victory on the road, grows streak of wins to 7 games

Minneapolis Washburn overcame Minneapolis North 48 to 20 at Minneapolis North High School in Minneapolis on Friday. Minneapolis Washburn racked up 35 points to take the lead in the first quarter. Minneapolis Washburn gained 7 unanswered points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. The first half closed with Minneapolis Washburn up 42 to 0. In the third quarter Minneapolis North was able to outscored their opponents by 2, however Minneapolis Washburn was able to keep its lead. In the fourth quarter Minneapolis North scored 12 unanswered points but it was too little to late and they ended up with the loss.

In the first quarter, Minneapolis Washburn's Jeffrey Jones ran 12 yards scoring a touchdown. It was the final straw for Minneapolis North. Steaming onward, Minneapolis Washburn's Raymonte Maynard ran 20 yards to the goal line for a touchdown. Minneapolis Washburn turned up their air game when Austin Johnson nailed a 23 yard pass to Jeffrey Jones for a TD. Rolling on, Minneapolis Washburn's Raymonte Maynard rushed past the defense 18 yards scoring a TD. Then Marjaun Beard rushed ahead 3 yards into the end zone. In the second quarter, keeping the momentum going, Noah Scarver scored a 40 yard touchdown for Minneapolis Washburn on an interception. In the third quarter, Minneapolis Washburn kept going when Raymonte Maynard rushed past the defense 25 yards scoring a TD. Minneapolis North replied when Tyler Johnson nailed a 16 yard pass to Malik Mathews for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, piercing though the defense, Johnson plowed forward 3 yards scoring another TD. Continuing the roll, Minneapolis North's Johnson once more danced forward 13 yards over the goal line once more.

Minneapolis Washburn extended their winning streak to seven games and ended the game with a perfect record of 7 wins and 0 losses. Minneapolis North finished the game with a record of 2-5.
