Ben Turnham invaluable as Orono starts with 14 point lead in 1st quarter, goes on for the shutout win

Ben Turnham did the lion's share of scoring for Orono, throwing four touchdowns.

In a shutout game, Orono beat Mound-Westonka 28 to zero at Orono High School in Orono on Friday. Orono scored 14 straight points to take the lead in the first quarter. Orono added 14 unanswered points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. The first half closed with Orono on top 28 to 0. Mound-Westonka would not be able to answer back. Neither team scored in the third quarter so Orono kept its lead. With both teams scoreless in the fourth quarter, Orono conserved its lead, and was the winner.

In the first quarter, Orono's Ben Turnham threw a 7 yard pass to Koller Adzick for a touchdown. Orono was in control from then on. Orono fired up the air game when Turnham found the end zone again with a 16 yard pass to Sam Challgren for a touchdown. In the second quarter, Orono took advantage in the air when Turnham hit the end zone again on a 9 yard pass to Koller Adzick for a touchdown. Picking apart the secondary, Turnham found the end zone again with a 6 yard pass to Dan Willson for a touchdown.

Mound-Westonka finished the game with a record of 0 wins and 4 losses.
