John Rumpza impresses as Blooming Prairie uses its air attack for the victory on the road

John Rumpza scored big for Blooming Prairie throwing for four touchdowns.

Blooming Prairie was superior against Mankato Loyola 27 to 21 at Good Counsel Campus in Mankato on Friday. Blooming Prairie scored 7 points to jump in to the lead in the first quarter. Mankato Loyola gained 7 unanswered points in the second quarter to even up the score. Halftime saw both teams at 7 points each. In the third quarter Mankato Loyola managed to outscore Blooming Prairie 14 to 6 and move into the lead for a little while. Blooming Prairie rallied in the fourth quarter with 14 unanswered points, to grab the win.

The Blooming Prairie offense led the way in passing and rushing. Leading the way for Blooming Prairie, John Rumpza got 348 yards on 18 completions out of 39 passes attempted. As the stand out receiver, Michael Thomas picked up 11 receptions for 247 yards and had three touchdown grabs. Having a very good day rushing, Scott Romeo rushed down the field 12 times for a combined 73 yards.

Mankato Loyola's offense could not get the job done.

Blooming Prairie extended their winning streak to 3 games and ended up with a record of 4 and 1. Mankato Loyola ended the game with a record of 0-3.
