A look at Class 6A first-round playoff games from around the metro.

Vincent Pyne threw a 36-yard touchdown to C Wall with 8:02 left to give No. 3 Rosemount its first and only lead against visiting No. 6 Edina. The Irish (5-4) held on for a 24-21 victory in the first round of the Class 6A State Tournament.

Pyne threw a 26-yard touchdown to Sam Kuseske with 36 seconds left in the first half and a 17-yard score to Hayden Bills with 2:24 left in the third quarter.

Adam Berghult threw three touchdown of his own to keep the Hornets (1-8) in front for the majority of the first half. He found Parker Durkin in the back of the end zone for an 11-yard score in the first quarter. Berghult then threw a pair of long touchdowns to Brady Anderson.
 
Other Class 6A first round games:

Blaine 14, Totino-Grace 13 (OT): Kendall Stadden made an extra point in overtime to win the game for the host No. 3 Bengals. Preston Meyers ran for two touchdowns for the Bengals (5-4). Hunter Karlson ran for a touchdown to give the No. 6 Eagles the first score of overtime, but the extra point was unsuccessful. Nick Ruohonen threw a touchdown pass to Adam Molitor with 9:20 left in the game for the Eagles (1-8).

Woodbury 14, Champlin Park 0: George Bjellos threw two touchdown passes in the first quarter to lead the No. 2 Royals (8-1) past the visiting No. 7 Rebels (0-9).

Minnetonka 30, Brainerd 15: Jacob McCall ran for three touchdowns to lead the No. 3 Skippers (8-1) past the visiting No. 6 Warriors (4-5).

Centennial 35, Eastview 14: Lance Liu ran for three touchdowns to lead the No. 3 Cougars (5-4) past the visiting No. 6 Lightning (3-6). 

Wayzata 37, Osseo 6: Ryan Harvey threw two touchdown passes to Drew Berkland to lead the No. 4 Trojans (7-2) past the visiting No. 5 Orioles (4-5). Julian Diedrich had two touchdown runs for the Trojans. 

St. Michael-Albertville 41, Burnsville 14: Max Keefer returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown to lead the No. 2 Knights (5-4) past the visiting No. 7 Blaze (1-8). The senior running back added two touchdown runs in the first quarter.  Colton Gregersen ran for a touchdown and caught another from Sterling Brown Jr. for the Blaze.

Eden Prairie 36, Coon Rapids 6: The No. 1 Eagles (8-1) had four different players run for a touchdown to defeat the visiting No. 8 Cardinals (2-7). Toby Frost, Tyler Walden, Trevor Johnson and Liam Berndt had touchdown runs for the Eagles. Josh Dubois threw a touchdown pass to Josh Cullen for the Cardinals.

Shakopee 50, Park of Cottage Grove 21: Jadon Hellerud ran for touchdowns to help the No. 2 Sabers (7-2) build a 44-0 lead in the third quarter and held off the visiting No. 7 Wolfpack (4-5). 

Maple Grove 49, Roseville 7: Jacob Klizer ran for two touchdowns and threw two more to lead the No. 1 Crimson (8-1) past the visiting No. 8 Raiders (0-9). Will Anderson and Tanner Albeck caught touchdown passes from Klizer. Albeck also ran for a score, Jacob Anderson ran for a touchdown and Derrick Jameson returned a punt for a touchdown for the Crimson. William Devries threw a touchdown pass to Tyjon Jenkins for the Raiders.

Lakeville South 48, Hopkins 6: Camden Dean threw two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the No. 1 Cougars (9-0) past the visiting No. 8 Royals (0-9). Carson Hansen, Jackson Hall, Gabe Jacobson and Ethan Fink ran for touchdowns and Ian Segna and Chase Androff caught touchdown passes for the Cougars. Roben Buckingham ran for a touchdown for the Royals.

Stillwater 56, Eagan 14: Max Shikenjanski threw three touchdown passes to Connor McCormick to lead the No. 1 Ponies (9-1) past the visiting No. 8 Wildcats (2-8). Landon Weyer had a touchdown run and a punt return touchdown  for the Ponies. Carson Schwamb threw a touchdown pass to Rowen Phillips and Landon Tonsager had a touchdown run for the Wildcats.

Farmington 63, Forest Lake 20: The No. 2 Tigers exploded for 36 points in the second quarter to pull away from the visiting No. 7 Rangers (2-7).
