We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.
Woodbury vs. Centennial, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20. Woodbury (6-1), ranked No. 8-6A, and star sophomore quarterback George Bjellos (1,490 passing yards, 19 TDs) close the regular season against No. 5-6A Centennial (4-3).
Dawson-Boyd vs. Minneota, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20. Minneota (7-0), ranked No. 2-1A and a seven-time state champion which has allowed just six points all season, faces a Dawson-Boyd (6-1) squad that has scored 30 or more points in all but two games.
Faribault Bethlehem Academy vs. Rushford-Peterson, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20. Offensive fireworks are likely in this one, too, as 6-1 Bethlehem Academy (which has scored more than 50 points in each of its last two games) and senior running back Brady Strodtman square off against No. 4-1A Rushford-Peterson (7-0), which is coming of a 67-point output against Hayfield last week.
