We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Lakeville South vs. Shakopee, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15. No. 1-6A Lakeville South (6-0), ranked No. 1-6A, has terrorized opponents behind the rushing of senior Camden Dean (1,053 yards) and faces a No. 2-6A Shakopee (5-1) team coming off its first loss.

Esko vs. Aitkin, 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14. Junior quarterback Ty Christensen leads Esko (6-0) against Aitkin (5-1), which suffered its first loss last week against Hermantown.

Plainview-Elgin-Millville vs. Cannon Falls, 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15. Plainview-Elgin Millville (5-1), ranked No. 9-3A, and No. 5-3A Cannon Falls (5-1) continue their quest to keep pace with No. 1-3A Lake City (6-0) in the power-packed Southeast Red Division.
