Top games: Mythical debate between Eden Prairie and Lakeville South to be settled on the field - a year late

Sept. 17: The unbeaten Eagles and Cougars didn't have the opportunity to play for a state title last season.

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Robbinsdale Armstrong vs. Robbinsdale Cooper, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17. No. 9-5A Robbinsdale Cooper (1-1) and offensive dynamos in running back Camden Royal, wide receiver David Connors and quarterback Joe Russell (546 passing yards — second most in the state) square off against intracity rival Robbinsdale Armstrong (2-0) and gunslinging quarterback Jamen Malone (443 passing yards).

Andover vs. Rogers, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17. Quarterback Connor Develice (374 passing yards) and running back Caden Wheeler (195 yards) lead No. 4-5A Andover (2-0) against No. 10-5A Rogers (2-0) and standout quarterback Tyson Vylasek.
