Roundup: Elk River grinds out victory over Cambridge-Isanti

Friday's games

Dylan Rogers rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns to help Elk River, ranked No. 10 in the Metro Top 10, grind out a 40-14 victory over host Cambridge-Isanti on Friday night.
Rogers, who averaged 10.4 yards per carry, rushed for two touchdowns in the first quarter to spark the Elks to an early 14-0 lead. The Elks finished with 350 rushing yards.
Ari Sullivan threw two touchdown passes for the Bluejackets.
Irondale 28, Benilde-St. Margaret’s 16: Connor Kvaal passed for 115 yards and rushed for 58 yards and two touchdowns to help Irondale pull away in the second half. Midway through the third quarter, Kvaal scored on a 5-yard run to give the Knights a 13-7 lead.
Minneapolis North 41, St. Paul Johnson 0: William Smith and Jaylon Washington each rushed for two touchdowns to lead the Polars past the host Governors. Smith scored his touchdowns in the first half as the Polars, who were 6-1 last season, built a 34-0 halftime lead. Washington finished with 136 yards. 
Mound Westonka 42, North St. Paul 14: Tyler Von Bank rushed for four touchdowns in the first half to spark the White Hawks past the host Polars. The White Hawks led 28-0 at halftime.
Tri-City United 40, New Ulm 0: Carter O’Malley and Payton Hennen each rushed for two touchdowns to lead the host Titans past the Eagles. Dylan Hollom returned an interception 32 yards in the fourth quarter to complete the scoring for the Titans. O’Malley also ran for three two-point conversions.
Watertown-Mayer 28, Foley 12: Albert Rundell ran for a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass to lead the Royals past the host Falcons. The Royals led 28-0 after three quarters.
