Defensive powerhouse missed two-and-a-half games with shoulder injury

Woodbury senior Cam Maslonka, a strong safety/linebacker hybrid who is one of the metro's most ferocious hitters, received word from his doctor Wednesday morning that he will be able to suit up and play for the Royals when they host Suburban East Conference leader Cretin-Derham Hall Friday.

Maslonka has missed two-and-a-half games after suffering a severe shoulder separation in Woodbury's 35-24 victory over East Ridge on Sept. 23.

"I found out that I will be able to play against Cretin on our turf," a clearly happy Maslonka said. "That's pretty cool."

Maslonka expects to have surgery on the shoulder after the conclusion of the season.
