Defensive Player of the Week: Week 4

Defensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Bobby Hosch, Columbia Heights LB, junior: Hosch finished with 10 tackles and two sacks in a 45-35 loss to Breck in week 4. He leads the Hylanders in tackles with 42 through four games. 

Ryan Larson, Braham LB, sophomore: Typically a standout on the offensive side of the ball, Larson did most of his damage on defense in week 4. He finished with nine tackles, three tackles for loss, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries in a 30-20 win over Deer River. 

Andy Aune, Hopkins LB, senior: Aune led all players with 17 tackles and added a forced fumble in a week 4 loss to Edina. He currently leads the Royals with 51 tackles on the season. 

Alex Kjolstad, Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton DE, junior: Kjolstad finished with 9 tackles (three for loss), two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery in a loss to Blooming Prairie. He also caught four passes for 32 yards on offense. 

Drew Rozanski, Rockford LB, sophomore (winner): Rozanski recorded 13 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception in week 4. He has 34 tackles through four games. 

Tony Sylvester, Irondale LB, senior: Recently described as "unblockable" by his coach, Sylvester continued his dominant start to the season with 22 total tackes in week 4. He now has 79 tackles (53 solo) through just four games. 

Danny Chlebeck, Spring Lake Park LB, senior: Chlebeck helped the Spring Lake Park defense shut out Irondale as the Panthers moved to 4-0 on the season. The five sport athlete had 12 tackles, a fumble recovery, and an interception in the 35-0 win. 

Quincy Kent-Schneider, Chanhassen LB, junior: Kent-Schneider had a hand in 11 tackles and recorded two sacks in week 4. He also forced and recovered a fumble. 

Sam Gittleman, SMB LB, senior: Gittleman did a little bit of everything to help SMB shut out New Life Academy 43-0 in week 4. He had eight tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, an interception, and a pass defended in the win. 

Will Hoff, Edina DB, senior: Hoff had two of the Edina defense's five interceptions in a 42-21 win over Hopkins. He also led the Hornets with seven tackles.
