Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Football Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Caden Link, Delano. The senior stuffed the stat sheet in the Tigers' 31-28 win over Holy Family Catholic. He grabbed his first interception of the season, forced a fumble, and made 11 total tackles.

Top performer candidates

Tanner Bitzan, Brandon-Evansville. The junior led the Chargers with 15 total tackles, including two for a loss, in a 44-24 win over Bertha-Hewitt.

Michael Herbst, Prior Lake. In a 9-7 Lakers' loss to Minnetonka, the senior linebacker had two sacks, four tackles for a loss and 11 total tackles. 

Kelby Jaenisch, MACCRAY. The senior made 22 total tackles — on par with the six times he reached the 20-tackle mark last season — in a 41-26 defeat to Red Rock Central.

Caden Link, Delano. The senior stuffed the stat sheet in the Tigers' 31-28 win over Holy Family Catholic. He grabbed his first interception of the season, forced a fumble, and made 11 total tackles.

Blake Magnuson, St. Cloud Tech. The senior linebacker led the Tigers with 12 total tackles and 2.5 sacks to help his team to a 43-20 victory over Sartell-St. Stephen.

Alex Otto, Monticello. The senior linebacker, who averaged nearly 15 tackles per game in 2017, made 19 tackles in a 49-20 loss to Cambridge-Isanti.

Trevor Palesch, Wayzata. The Trojans have seen the senior linebacker's number of total tackles increase every game this season, with last week's season-high of 16 leading the defense in a 35-34 loss to Eden Prairie. Palesch also recorded one sack.

Joe Rossebo, Woodbury. The senior linebacker bolstered the Royals' defense, helping to hold Mounds View scoreless until the middle of the third quarter in a 24-7 victory. He finished with eight tackles, including four for a loss, and two sacks.

Jaeden Stovall, Park of Cottage Grove. The senior linebacker contributed 14 solo tackles (19 total) and two sacks to power the Wolfpack's 28-8 defeat of Apple Valley.

Joey Tilzer, Orono. In a 28-13 win over Chaska, the sophomore linebacker recorded 11 solo tackles (12 total) — including two for a loss — three sacks and his second interception of the season.
