We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Hutchinson vs. Willmar, 6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7. Hutchinson (1-0) won a 46-38 shootout with Willmar (1-0) a year ago. Last year's highest-scoring teams from the North Central White subdistrict meet for a rematch this week.

Blaine vs. St. Michael-Albertville, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7. St. Michael-Albertville finished  9-2, tying for first in the Metro North subdistrict in its first Class 6A season, but sputtered in a 21-20 season-opening loss to Mounds View on Aug. 30. The Knights (0-1) will look to get back on track in this week's league opener against Blaine (1-0).

Maple Grove vs. Prior Lake, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7. Three of the last four meetings between Maple Grove (1-0) and Prior Lake (1-0) have been decided by three points or less. Will it go down to the wire when the two teams meet again on Friday?
