First Report

Prior Lake quarterback Colin O’Connor rushed for a pair of touchdowns and added two passing TDs to lead the Lakers to a 41-8 rout over Shakopee Thursday night in Shakopee.

The Sabers (0-1, 0-1) led early, with a safety on the first play from scrimmage, but O’Connor responded with touchdown runs of 17 and 33 yards in the first half. In the second half, O'Connor connected with Spencer Marlier and Parker Ellis for 5-yard and 7-yard passing touchdowns, respectively.

O'Connor finished the night with 108 rushing yards on eight carries.

The Lakers (1-0, 1-0) defense stymied any chances of a Shakopee comeback, holding the Sabers to negative yardage in the third quarter. Shakopee senior Montez Hinton scored the Sabers’ lone touchdown on a 72-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.
