Offensive Player of the Week Candidates:

Jaran Roste, Alexandria QB, senior (winner): Roste got off to relatively slow start this season as teammate Micah Christenson did most of the heavy lifting in the first half of the season, but that changed in Week 5. Roste had a hand in nine touchdowns, finishing 11-for-18 passing for 292 yards and five TDs and 11 carries for 62 yards and four TDs in a 69-20 win over Bemidji. The Alexandria offense has averaged 52 points per game while jumping out to a 5-0 record.

Amitri Collins-Westlund St. Paul Highland Park QB, senior: Collins-Westlund needed just nine carries to rush for 284 yards and five touchdowns as Highland Park routed St. Anthony 64-28. The senior quarterback was 12-for-18 passing for 274 yards and three TDs as well.

Luke Martens, Apple Valley WR, junior: Martens tied a state record with five receiving touchdowns in 42-41 win over Eastview. Martens finished with 11 catches for 160 yards and became the second player in Minnesota to catch five touchdown passes in a game this season (Stewartville's Nik Thiel was the first).

Mike Delich, Eastview RB, senior: Delich did everything he could to match Martens in the Battle for the Apple rivalry game, but his Lightning team fell just short. Delich ran for 254 yards and five touchdowns on 48 carries in the one-point loss.

James Clark, United North Central QB, junior: Clark was involved in all six United North Central touchdowns as his team topped Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 42-0. Clark had 17 carries for 197 yards and three TDs and went 6-for-11 passing for 133 yards and three more touchdowns.

Spencer Maas, Spectrum RB, senior: Maas tallied 247 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored five touchdowns to lead Spectrum to their first win of the season, a 52-20 drubbing of Minneapolis Roosevelt.

Noah Hillman, Rochester Lourdes QB, senior: Hillman was yet another quarterback who had a hand in all of his team's touchdowns in Week 5, collecting seven in a 49-14 win against Kasson-Mantorville. Hillman rushed for 80 yards and five TDs on seven carries and went 4-for-6 passing for 80 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles have jumped out to a 5-0 start and are looking like one of the teams to beat in Class 3A.

Jefferson Lee V, Marshall RB, junior: The state leader in rushing touchdowns extended his lead with a seven-TD performance in Week 5. The junior back finished with 19 carries for 241 yards and three catches for 54 yards in a 64-0 win over Worthington. The outburst brings Lee's season total to 22 rushing touchdowns and his Marshall team is now 5-0 on the year.

Noah Carlson, Rushford-Peterson RB, senior: Carlson went over the 1,000-yard mark for the season by rushing for 276 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries in a 31-14 win over Lewiston-Altura. Carlson also caught two passes for 58 yards and intercepted a pass on defense to help the Trojans remain unbeaten.

Parnell Taylor, Osseo RB, senior: Taylor carried the ball 22 times for 250 yards and three touchdowns in a loss to Champlin Park. The Rebels needed a touchdown and a successful two-point conversion attempt in the final minute of the game to eke out a 36-35 win over the Orioles.
