CLASS 1A Saturday, 10 a.m.

Minneapolis North Polars (13-0) vs. Minneota Vikings (13-0)

Jim says: The last time a Minneapolis public school team played in the Prep Bowl was ... never. A loss to Dawson-Boyd in the Class 1A semifinals in 2014 has motivated the Polars all season, and they talked about re-watching that game as a refresher. Tyler Johnson is an elite talent, but North has a bevy of playmakers — Ahzerik Rodgers, Patrick Dempley, Isaac Johnson, Antwan Cobble — and they all can run.

The pick: Minneapolis North 34, Minneota 22

David says: Picking against Minneota, 39-1 the past three seasons and winner of five state titles, means there had better be a good reason. Minneapolis North is such a reason. The Polars’ team speed was too much for Tracy-Milroy-Balaton in the quarterfinals and for previously undefeated Braham in the semifinals. Minneota has the edge in experience this time of year, but you can’t beat what you can’t catch.

The pick: Minneapolis North 28, Minneota 20
