Jim says: If not for a missed extra point, Holdingford easily could have started the season 0-3. The Huskers’ success since has been based on big plays, good fortune and growing confidence buoyed by every victory. BOLD has ripped off 12 straight victories since losing to Paynesville in Week 1. It defeated Hawley and Caledonia — the top teams in the class — in consecutive state tournament games. I’m going with BOLD.

David says: Holdingford reached the state tournament last season and lost in the quarterfinals. But the Huskers kicked the door down to reach the Prep Bowl. They figure to receive plenty of yards from Matt Messman, a difference-maker at running back all season with more than 1,800 yards, and Nathan Brinker, a guard-turned-running back in the postseason. They also lead the defense in tackles. The Huskers pull the upset.
