The Hopkins' football program has a chance to accomplish a first in the regular-season finale: win a Lake Conference title. Accomplishing that feat, however, won’t be easy as the Royals face an undefeated Eden Prairie team that is ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press’ Class 6A poll.
Hopkins, No. 9, has had quite a turnaround after finishing 2-7 last season. The Royals are 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference and have secured narrow victories against league opponents in each of the last three weeks, helping set the table for their biggest game of the season.
The Eagles (6-0, 3-0) have defined success the past three seasons. They are the three-time defending state champions and won their 24th consecutive game (dating back to 2012) last week.
Can Hopkins pull off the Cinderella season? Will Eden Prairie finish off another perfect regular season? This game will answer both questions and is our Top Game of the Week.
