Edina holds on to defeat No. 3 Minnetonka

• EDINA 27, MINNETONKA 20: Edina built a 20-3 lead and then held on for the victory over the Skippers, ranked No. 3 in the Star Tribune Metro Top 10. Troy Peterson threw three TD passes for the Hornets.

• PRIOR LAKE 20, LAKEVILLE NORTH 6: The Lakers pulled away from a 6-6 halftime tie to earn the victory over Lakeville North, ranked No. 4 in the Metro Top 10. Alex Feine scored on a 25-yard run in the third quarter for the Lakers and Blake Weber on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter.

• WAYZATA 40, HOPKINS 14: Tanner Bedard rushed for three TDs to lead the Trojans, ranked No. 6 in the Metro Top 10, past the Royals.

• ROSEMOUNT 41, EAGAN 14: Dimitri Williams rushed for 113 yards and two TDs to lead the Irish, ranked No. 8 in the Metro Top 10, past Eagan. Williams scored both TDs in the first quarter as the Irish built a 21-0 lead.

• TOTINO-GRACE 28, ELK RIVER 14: Kai Barber rushed for two TDs and caught a TD pass as the Eagles, ranked No. 10 in the Metro Top 10, outlasted the Elks.

• BELLE PLAINE 35, MAYER LUTHERAN 31: Gavin Dauwalter’s 3-yard TD run in the fourth quarter rallied the Tigers, ranked No. 2 in Class 3A, to the victory. Luke Narveson threw three TD passes for the Tigers.

• BLAINE 41, COON RAPIDS 14: Zach Wylie caught a 58-yard TD pass and returned a blocked field goal 97 yards for a TD and Nate Kroutil rushed for two TDs to highlight the Bengals’ victory. Blaine also recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a TD.

• BURNSVILLE 14, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 3: The Blaze defense limited Cougars to 107 yards in offense to earn the South Suburban Conference victory.

• DELANO 28, ORONO 6: Adam Kraft returned a kickoff 96 yards for a TD in the first quarter and an interception 78 yards for a TD in the third to spark Delano, ranked No. 5 in Class 4A.

• GLENCOE-SILVER LAKE 40, LITCHFIELD 7: Keaton Anderson rushed for two TDs — the first on an 80-yard run on his team’s first play from scrimmage — and passed for two TDs to lead the Panthers, ranked No. 3 in Class 3A, to the victory. Jake Stuedemann rushed for two TDs for Glencoe-Silver Lake.

• MAHTOMEDI 35, ST. THOMAS ACADEMY 20: Kellen Campbell and Jackson Hull each rushed for two TDs to lead the Zephyrs past the Cadets. Campbell also passed for a TD.

• MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 29, PROVIDENCE ACADEMY 14: Xavier Ray rushed for 178 yards and four TDs to lead the Redhawks.

• MINNEAPOLIS NORTH 50, MINNEAPOLIS SOUTH 19: Kenyon Thomas scored five TDs and Tyler Johnson passed for 335 yards and four TDs to fuel the Polars’ victory over the Tigers. Thomas, who had eight receptions for 246 yards, also returned a punt 76 yards for a TD.

• MINNEAPOLIS WASHBURN 62, MINNEAPOLIS ROOSEVELT 6: Jeff Jones rushed for 190 yards and seven TDs to lead the Millers.

• SOUTH ST. PAUL 33, TARTAN 13: Bill Brandecker rushed for two TDs and passed for one as the Packers, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, dealt Tartan its first loss of the season.

• SPRING LAKE PARK 41, NORTH ST. PAUL 13: Grant Walter rushed for 207 yards and four TDs — in just 13 carries — to lead the Panthers past the host Polars.

• ST. FRANCIS 46, DULUTH DENFELD 15: John Santiago scored on a 53-yard TD run on his first carry and sparked the visiting Saints to the victory. Santiago rushed for 108 yards in four carries. The Saints built a 34-8 halftime lead.

• ST. CROIX LUTHERAN 47, NEW LIFE ACADEMY 14: David Ponath rushed for two TDs and passed for two more to pace St. Croix Lutheran in a rout.

NOTES

• Waseca, ranked No. 8 in Class 4A, defeated defending Class 3A state champion Blue Earth Area 22-13. The loss ended a 17-game winning streak for Blue Earth Area, which was ranked No. 1 in Class 3A. The winning streak was the third longest current one in the state. Caledonia has won 30 games in a row and Mahnomen 18.
