June has been a busy month for coach Mike Pendino and the East Ridge football program. In a span of less than two weeks, three Raptors made college football recruiting news.

Two players who will be seniors, center J.C. Hassenauer and tight end George Behr, made college commitments. Hassenauer said yes to an offer from reigning national champion Alabama, while Behr agreed to a scholarship offer from future Big Ten member Rutgers.

Quarterback Seth Green, a sophomore-to-be, received his first scholarship offer from Minnesota.

Last week, Pendino offered his thoughts on each player:

On Hassenauer

“He’s a great character kid whose work ethic is unbelievable. He just loves football. [Alabama] is where he’s always wanted to go. He’s worked awfully hard to accomplish that.”

On Behr

“Rutgers is a perfect match for him. George’s strengths and what they do on offense is a perfect fit. They don’t really recruit this area, but they saw him on film, liked what they saw and came out to make sure he was 6-foot-5. He wowed them.”

On Green

“There are more and more offers from colleges to [players of] a younger age. They usually go to a player who can’t miss, and Seth is as close as you get to a can’t-miss kid. He’s that good.”
