The South team evened the series with the North in the Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game a year ago, and will look to regain the lead in the series at the end of June.

Nine south metro seniors will participate in the 40th annual event. They are Parker Anderson (linebacker) and Ryan Landherr (offensive linemen) of Prior Lake; Michael Backus (offensive lineman) of Eastview; Karl Finkel (defensive lineman) and Mitch Johnson (linebacker) of Lakeville North; Andrew Herkenhoff (defensive back) of Burnsville; Nick Larson (running back) of Shakopee; Max Weaver (offensive lineman) of Northfield; and Steve Wilson (wide receiver) of Apple Valley.

Prior Lake mentor Matt Gegenheimer will serve as an assistant coach for the South team.

The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 29 at Husky Stadium on the St. Cloud State University campus.

Trey Heid of Lakeville North led the South to a 33-21 victory over the North in 2012. The win evened the current series format between the South and North at 9-9-1.
