Defenses ruled the day when Duluth Marshall beat Hinckley-Finlayson 14 to 7 at Berquist Field in Hinkley on Wednesday. Neither team managed to get on the scoreboard in the first quarter. Duluth Marshall added 7 points in the second quarter to break the tie and take the lead. The half ended with Duluth Marshall ahead 7 to 0. Neither team scored in the third quarter so Duluth Marshall protected its lead. Both teams scored 7 points in the fourth quarter but Duluth Marshall kept the lead for the win.
