Belle Plaine utilizes its air game for the victory on the road

Belle Plaine overcame Le Sueur-Henderson 20 to 13 at Le Sueur-Henderson High School in LeSueur on Friday. Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter. With no one scoring in the second quarter both defenses were solid. Both offenses continued to be totally shut down by strong defense in the 3rd quarter. In the fourth quarter, with defenses wearing down, Belle Plaine outscored their opponents by 7 points and took the lead to claim the late win.

What the Belle Plaine offense lacked in yardage, they made up for in scoring. Racking up yards in the air, Luke Narveson got 218 yards on 11 completions out of 20 passes attempted. Narveson was intercepted once. The key target for the QB, Nick Eliason nabbed nine passes for 164 yards and had two touchdown grabs. Leading rushing for Belle Plaine, Dillon Haefner scrambled ahead 13 times for a total of 57 yards.

Belle Plaine ended their losing streak of five games and ended up with a record of 2 wins and 5 losses. Le Sueur-Henderson finished the game with a record of 2-5.
