Blake Ohren excels as Ashby defense controls the pass to dominate their opponents

Blake Ohren led the winning effort for Ashby, connecting in the air for three touchdowns and rushing for another three.

In a lopsided victory, Ashby bested Bertha-Hewitt 54 to 14 at Bertha-Hewitt High School in Bertha on Friday. Neither team managed to score in the first quarter. No one scored in the second quarter either. The game remained scoreless going into the fourth quarter as the defensive battle wore on. In the fourth quarter, with defenses wearing down, Ashby scored 54 points to Bertha-Hewitt's 14 and took the lead to claim the late win.

Ashby's offense dominated in passing and rushing. Showing an incredible performance, Blake Ohren ran for 195 yards on 22 carries. Ohren reached the end zone three times. Displaying a golden arm, Blake Ohren also went 13 for 23 passing for 162 yards. On the downside, Bertha-Hewitt picked off Ohren twice. In receiving, Blake Ohren picked up five passes for 83 yards and had one touchdown grab.

Bertha-Hewitt's offense came up short.

Bertha-Hewitt finished the game with a record of 1-4.
