Bigfork Wins Close Game Against North Woods 44-40

Bigfork defends against the pass to win narrowly

In a tightly contested game, Bigfork triumphed over North Woods 44 to 40 at Bigfork High School in Bigfork on Friday. North Woods outscored Bigfork 12 to 6 to take the lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter Bigfork outscored their opponents by 8 points and jumped in to the lead. Halftime saw Bigfork on top 28 to 26. In the third quarter Bigfork scored 8 more points than North Woods and added to their advantage. North Woods chalked up 6 straight points in the fourth quarter but it was not enough to close the gap, so they lost the game.

The Bigfork offense led the way in passing and rushing. Proving too much for North Woods's defense, Zac Lovdahl scrambled ahead for 214 yards on 27 carries. Lovdahl got over the goal line three times but lost the ball once. In a less than spectacular air game, Ethan Beckman threw for only 27 yards with 1 of 3 passes completed. Zac Lovdahl grabbed one reception for 27 yards.

North Woods's offense came up short.

The Bigfork defense contributed to the victory, and kept the pressure up with three sacks. They forced one fumble and recovered one fumble.

Bigfork extended their winning streak to four games and ended the game with a record of 5-2. North Woods ended the game with a record of 3-2.
