In a hard fought match up, Esko handed a loss to Aitkin 16 to 14 at Aitkin High School in Aitkin on Friday. Neither team managed to score in the first quarter. In the second quarter Esko outscored their opponents and took the lead. Halftime saw Esko on top 8 to 7. Aitkin would try to come back after halftime. Aitkin managed to move ahead for awhile in the third quarter with 7 points. Esko engineered a comeback in the fourth quarter with 8 straight points, winning in the end.

Esko moves to a record of 4-1. Aitkin ended the game with a record of 1-5.
