Pine Island overcame Hayfield 17 to 7 at Hayfield High School in Hayfield on Friday. Hayfield tallied up 7 points to take the lead in the first quarter. Pine Island added 10 points in the second quarter to jump in to the lead. The first half closed with Pine Island up 10 to 7. The Pine Island defense took over in the second half. Neither team scored in the third quarter so Pine Island kept its lead. Pine Island scored 7 points in the fourth quarter piling on and winning the game.
