St. Michael-Albertville takes 7 point lead in 1st quarter, goes on to win the shutout

In a shutout, St. Michael-Albertville beat Fergus Falls 42 to zero at STMA Middle School West in St. Michael on Friday. St. Michael-Albertville tallied up 7 points to take the lead in the first quarter. St. Michael-Albertville added 7 points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. Halftime saw St. Michael-Albertville up 14 to 0. Fergus Falls's fate was sealed. In the third quarter St. Michael-Albertville scored 14 points to keep in the lead. St. Michael-Albertville scored 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter adding to their overall lead and winning the game.

In the first quarter, St. Michael-Albertville got things going when Brendon Poland carried to the goal line for a touchdown. St. Michael-Albertville was in control from then on. In the second quarter, St. Michael-Albertville kept going when Cole Krutzig rushed past the defense 15 yards into the end zone. In the third quarter, St. Michael-Albertville fired up their running game when Chris Kartes streaked by, running 74 yards going the distance for a touchdown. Steaming onward, St. Michael-Albertville's Kartes once more ran by the defense 12 yards over the goal line once more. In the fourth quarter, in addition, Kartes again ran 6 yards for another touchdown. Pushing forward, St. Michael-Albertville's Brennan Skon plowed ahead 4 yards scoring a touchdown.

St. Michael-Albertville ended up with a record of 5-2. Fergus Falls finished the game with a record of 4-2.
