Alex Chadwick

Farmington senior Alex Chadwick has helped the football team get off to a 5-1 start this season. He is a defensive back and also plays on special teams.

Chadwick is also a point guard on the basketball team in the winter and runs the sprints for the track & field squad in the spring.

He was also selected as the school's homecoming king, and shared the spotlight with rare royalty: co-queens Megan Grengs and Taylor Howie.

Here is a closer look at Chadwick:

The best movie I've seen in the past year? "21 Jump Street."

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Funny; athletic; leader.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "300 Violin Orchestra" by Jorge; "Time of Your Life" by Kid Ink; "Headstrong" by Trapt.

What are your favorite apps? Hudl and Instagram.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?

MSHSL [Minnesota State High School League] because I like to get updates on scores of games and see what my friends from other schools are doing.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? A fourth quarter game-saving interception on homecoming night vs. Chaska this year. We ended up winning 27-23.

Being a three-sport athlete, what do you work on in the offseason? I spend a lot of time lifting weights, working on my speed, agility and footwork.

What were your goals as an athlete entering the 2012-13 school year? To make it to the state tournament in football and basketball.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... motivated to prove my abilities to my coaches.

To get focused for a game, I ... listen to music and watch game film.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... I can see them get frustrated and yelling at their own teammates.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Northfield. They are just down the road and we play for the Tractor Trophy each year.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? High schools shouldn't be recruiting kids from other schools to transfer. I know it's not allowed, but it still happens.

How did you balance school and sports during the year? I try to complete my work while I'm at school. I lift weights in the mornings to free up my evenings to study as well.

Being named homecoming king, what did you think about having two queens? Having two homecoming queens was something I never expected. It was the first time that had ever happened at Farmington High School, and I'm happy to have two of my good friends as my queens.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... working at a Fortune 500 company in sales and marketing, and going to Life Time Fitness each day after work.
