Minneapolis Washburn secondary contributes to win decisively

In a shutout game, Minneapolis Washburn handed a loss to Minneapolis Roosevelt 52 to zero at Minneapolis Washburn High School in Minneapolis on Friday. Minneapolis Washburn tallied up 26 straight points to jump in to the lead in the first quarter. Minneapolis Washburn gained 19 points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. Halftime saw Minneapolis Washburn up 45 to 0. Minneapolis Washburn never looked back. In the third quarter Minneapolis Washburn scored 7 unanswered points to keep in the lead. With both teams scoreless in the fourth quarter, Minneapolis Washburn conserved its lead, and was the winner.

In the first quarter, Minneapolis Washburn's Raymonte Maynard took the ball downfield 30 yards scoring a TD. Minneapolis Washburn led for the rest of the game. Adding another score for Minneapolis Washburn, Jeffrey Jones took the ball running to the goal line for a touchdown. Minneapolis Washburn turned up the pressure when Raymonte Maynard forged ahead running 12 yards to score a TD. Pushing forward, Minneapolis Washburn's Maynard yet again left defenders in the dust, running 42 yards for another touchdown. In the second quarter, pounding the defense, Jeffrey Jones forged ahead running 11 yards for a TD. Pounding the defense, Marjaun Beard rushed ahead to score a TD. Following this, Jeffrey Jones scored a 55 yard touchdown for Minneapolis Washburn on a punt return. In the third quarter, applying pressure from above, Morley Mathewson nailed a 19 yard pass to Noah Scarver for a score.

Minneapolis Washburn's offensive effort contributed to the victory.

The Minneapolis Roosevelt offense was outclassed.
