Blake Ohren produces as Ashby counts on its secondary for the win

Blake Ohren was the key to Ashby's victory throwing for one touchdown and rushing for another three.

Ashby handed a loss to Ortonville 38 to 32 at Ashby High School in Ashby on Friday. Neither team scored in the first quarter. The second quarter also saw no scoring. Both offenses remained unproductive against the superb defenses the 3rd quarter as well. In the final quarter, with defenses wearing down, Ashby outscored their opponents by 6 points and took the lead to claim the late win.

Ashby's offense was superior on the ground and in the air. Showing an incredible performance, Gage Olson rushed for 264 yards on 19 carries. Olson ran for a TD once. Blake Ohren got 133 yards on 11 completions out of 17 passes attempted. Ohren was intercepted once. On the receiving end Gage Olson grabbed three receptions for 43 yards.

Ortonville's offense came up short.

The Ashby defense contributed to the victory, and kept the pressure up with two sacks. They picked off Ortonville twice.

Ashby ended up with a record of 3 and 2. Ortonville finished the game with a record of 0 and 2.
