Hillcrest Lutheran starts with 9 point lead in 1st quarter, goes on for the win

Hillcrest Lutheran finished off Carlton 51 to 32 at Hillcrest Academy on Friday. Hillcrest Lutheran scored 9 unanswered points to take the lead in the first quarter. Hillcrest Lutheran gained 21 points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. The half ended with Hillcrest Lutheran on top 30 to 0. In the third quarter Carlton valiantly outscored their opponents by 6 points, however Hillcrest Lutheran was able to keep its lead. In the last quarter Carlton outscored Hillcrest Lutheran 19 to 14 however Hillcrest Lutheran kept its lead, and won the game.

Hillcrest Lutheran's offense got the job done.

Carlton's offensive effort was better overall, but came up short on points. Dominic Bennett rushed for 160 yards with 21 carries. Bennett ran for a TD. Erik Adams threw for 69 yards with 6 of 16 passes completed. Dominic Bennett made five nabs for 55 total yards.

Carlton's defense did their best to hold off Hillcrest Lutheran, while putting on pressure with one sack. They managed to force four fumbles and also snatched up one fumble. They picked off Hillcrest Lutheran once.

Hillcrest Lutheran ended their losing streak of 2 games and ended the game with a record of 1 and 2. Carlton suffered their first loss and finished the game with a record of 1 and 1.
