Blake Ohren stands out as Ashby attacks from the air to win easily

Blake Ohren led Ashby to victory throwing 6 touchdowns and running for another four.

In a shutout game, Ashby defeated Hancock 80 to zero at Hancock High School on Friday. Ashby scored 22 points to take the lead in the first quarter. Ashby gained 20 unanswered points in the second quarter and held on to its lead. The half ended with Ashby up 42 to 0. Ashby's defense shut down Hancock for the rest of the game. In the third quarter Ashby scored 24 points to keep in the lead. Ashby scored 14 points in the fourth quarter improving its score and winning the game.

In the first quarter, Ashby's Blake Ohren ran 11 yards for a touchdown. Ashby never lost the lead after that. Airing out the defense, Ohren connected again on a 18 yard pass to Reed Hanson good for a TD. Continuing the roll, Ohren completed once again with a 31 yard pass to Reed Hanson for a score. In the second quarter, adding another score for Ashby, Ohren ran forward for another touchdown. Keeping up the pressure, Dylan Barry drilled a 9 yard pass to Blake Ohren for another touchdown. Continuing with more, Ashby's Blake Ohren launched a 57 yard pass to Reed Hanson for a TD. In the third quarter, Ashby took advantage in the air when Ohren hit the end zone again with a 16 yard pass to Reed Hanson for a touchdown. In addition, Reed Hanson streaked by, running 43 yards into the end zone. Then Gage Olson ran forward 4 yards to score a TD. In the fourth quarter, Ashby turned up the pressure when Blake Ohren ran 29 yards to score a TD. Then Ohren yet again rushed with the ball 8 yards for another TD.

The Ashby air attack was lethal. Excelling in rushing, Blake Ohren carried the ball through the defense 25 times for a net 207 yards. Ohren got over the goal line four times. Displaying a golden arm, Blake Ohren also threw for 291 yards with 20 of 27 passes completed. Ohren also threw an interception. Putting in a solid performance, Reed Hanson nabbed 12 passes for 229 yards and had five touchdown grabs.

Hancock ended the game with a record of 0 wins and 4 losses.
