Prep roundup: Prior Lake upsets Lakeville North

• PRIOR LAKE 10, LAKEVILLE NORTH 6: In a game that featured three field goals and only one touchdown, the Lakers prevailed over the homestanding Class 6A, No. 3 Panthers in an upset by racing to a 10-0 lead and holding strong. The lone touchdown was a big one, as Nick Vanek connected with Nick Hart on a 93-yard touchdown pass. Hunter Cobb's two field goals accounted for Lakeville North's points, and Eric Tusa started the scoring with a 25-yard field goal for Prior Lake. Both teams are 4-1.

• BUFFALO 15, ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 13: A 45-yard field goal from Edward Clifton in the third quarter gave the Bison the victory. A Knights touchdown with 40 seconds remaining in regulation made for an interesting final few moments, but Buffalo held tight on the two-point conversion attempt and successfully recovered an onside kick to seal the upset victory. Cole Krutzig scored both touchdowns for the Knights, the first a 70-yard pass to Brian Ferry and the last a 3-yard plunge that set up the decisive two-point attempt.

MISSOTA

• FARMINGTON 27, CHASKA 23: The Class 5A, No. 6 Tigers did all their damage in the first half, scoring three touchdowns and drilling a pair of field goals in beating the Hawks. Reid Taubenheim was perfect on extra points and hit field goals from 26 and 41 yards, getting a hand in all of Farmington's scoring. Athen Ashton scored on touchdown runs of 24 and 17 for the Tigers, while the Hawks got touchdowns from three different players in a balanced offensive attack.

NORTH SUBURBAN

• IRONDALE 20, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 14: The Knights used a bit of trickery to trip up the Red Knights, pulling off a fake punt with 6:25 remaining in regulation to spring A.J. Myles for the 61-yard game-winning run. Justus Canfield ran 17 times for 112 yards (6.6 average) and scored the other two touchdowns for Irondale, which moved to 4-1. Benilde fell to 2-3.

NORTHWEST SUBURBAN

• CHAMPLIN PARK 28, CENTENNIAL 25: In a game decided by fourth-quarter points, the Rebels prevailed on a 14-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Garrison to Abram with 18.7 seconds left. Garrison completed 19 of 26 passes for 229 yards and four touchdowns. Bryce Marquart caught nine of those passes for 140 yards (15.6 average). Both teams moved the football, and the two offenses combined for nearly 750 yards.

• OSSEO 22, ANDOVER 13: The Class 6A, No. 5 Orioles rode the backs of Bridge Tusler and Troy Kray to victory. Tusler had 24 carries for 131 yards and two touchdowns, while Kray shouldered a heavier load with 33 carries and 157 yards, with a score of his own. Connor Wilkie threw for 251 yards for Andover.

TRI-METRO

• DELASALLE 51, PROVIDENCE ACADEMY 20: Quarterback Reid Travis was the story for the undefeated Class 4A, No. 1 Islanders as they routed the Lions. Travis found James Lawson with a 45-yard pass for his first touchdown of the game and also scored on a run and another pass. Teammate Chris Williams rushed 22 times for 197 yards (9.0 average) and a pair of touchdowns for DeLaSalle, which also had an interception return for a touchdown by Sam McCarthy.
