Bigfork secondary excels to win

Bigfork, August 31, 2012, 7:00 PM

In a defensive battle, Bigfork beat South Ridge 8 to 6 at Bigfork High School in Bigfork on Friday. South Ridge racked up 6 points to take the lead in the first quarter. Neither team scored in the second quarter so South Ridge held on to its lead. The half ended with South Ridge up 6 to 0, but the tables would soon turn. In the third quarter Bigfork went ahead by scoring 8 straight points. With both teams scoreless in the fourth quarter, Bigfork held on to its lead, and was the winner.

The Bigfork offense led the way in passing and rushing. Proving too much for South Ridge's defense, Zac Lovdahl rushed forward 22 times for a total of 240 yards. Lovdahl scored a touchdown once but dropped the ball three times. Not having a huge day in the air, Tyler Grover threw for only 23 yards with 2 of 3 passes completed. On the receiving end Zac Lovdahl caught one pass for 20 yards.

The South Ridge offense didn't fare well.

The Bigfork defense contributed to the victory, and kept the pressure up with three sacks.

This was the first game of the season for both Bigfork and South Ridge.
