Beenken is a quarterback on the football team and a guard on the basketball team. Here is a closer look at Beenken:

The best movie I've seen in the past year? Can't choose between "The Dark Knight Rises" or "Avengers."

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Athletic; smart; helpful.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... scared, rushed but yet confident.

What is your favorite meal before a game? Gatorade and PB&J [peanut butter and jelly].

How do you balance school and sports during the year? School first.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Recruiting athletes from other schools to transfer to a certain school.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Northfield at our homecoming last year to win back the Tractor Trophy.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? Miami Heat because I love how much criticism the team dealt with and yet they still won a championship.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why?

Lebron James because he is the man.

Do you have a secret talent - and if so, what is it? I am a closet poet.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "If you want it bad enough, you have the ability to make it happen." - from my brother and trainer, Greg Beenken.
