The Minnesota Top 20

Well, this is a bit of a conundrum.

I’ve written in past weeks, explaining why Class 6A teams tend to dominate any statewide rankings — size and depth of talent, mostly — but I admit, I didn’t see this coming.

While the top three teams in 6A are all undefeated and deserve to be at the top of the rankings, results from other parts of the state are making it tougher and tougher to stay consistent.

I’ve been saying all season to anyone who would listen (which tends to be mostly my wife) that Class 5A is the deepest in the state.

That shows in the rankings, with six very good 5A teams holding down spots on the list.
