And the winner is...MN Football Hub offensive top performer revealed

Top performer winner

Grant Loge, Pequot Lakes. Loge led the Patriots’ 61-18 rout of Pillager, completing 10 of 14 passes for 265 yards. The senior quarterback tallied five TD tosses, including a 19-yard completion to ignite the scoring frenzy and two for over 30 yards each in the final minute of the second quarter. Loge’s 1,399 passing yards are fourth most in the state this season and his 18 passing TDs is tied for second most.

Top performer candidates

Sam Berrey, Park of Cottage Grove. The senior quarterback had his second consecutive game with over 300 passing yards, recording season highs in completed passes (27), passing yards (327) and passing TDs (4). The Wolfpack lost to Woodbury 37-26.

Daylen Cummings, Centennial. The junior quarterback threw for 117 yards for the Cougars in their win over Blaine, but did all of his scoring on the ground. Cummings found the end zone four times on short rushes, taking 23 carries for 93 rushing yards. The Cougars won 34-0.

Ashton Lloyd, Blue Earth Area. The senior quarterback led the Buccaneers’ late come-from-behind victory, posting two of his four TDs in the fourth quarter. Trailing 14-0 in the second quarter, Lloyd rushed for a 15-yard score, then completed a 55-yard passing TD minutes later to bring the Buccaneers within two points. Lloyd completed his other two TDs while his team trailed by nine in the fourth, including a 5-yard pass to seal the 24-21 win against Maple River.

Ethan Pack, Hayfield. The senior quarterback led the Vikings to their second win of the season, a 35-14 victory over Winona Cotter. Pack completed seven passes for 188 yards and threw three touchdowns, including his furthest of 70 yards to close out the game’s scoring late in the fourth quarter.

Ethan Petersen, Academy Force. The Eagles earned their first win of the season on Oct. 7, a convincing 42-24 victory at Minneapolis Roosevelt. The senior quarterback was responsible for seven touchdowns in the game, six passing and one rushing late in the game. Peterson had 286 yards passing on 12 completions. 

Isaac Pohlen, Minneota. The Vikings are 5-1 this season, winning each game by a margin of 32 points. Their most recent victory came against MACCRAY as the Vikings were led by their senior quarterback. Pohlen threw 10 passes for 207 yards and four TDs. The first score of the game was his longest scoring play, a 55-yard completion, as the Vikings won 49-6.

Carter Reinbold, Mound Westonka. The junior quarterback was effective both with his legs and his arm in White Hawks’ 64-7 rout of St. Paul Highland Park. Reinbold accumulated over 300 all-purpose yards, taking 11 carries for 186 yards. He scored three rushing TDs in the first half, including a 57-yard scoring run, and added three passing TDs in the second half. Reinbold completed nine passes for 120 yards.

Cole Schmidt, Delano. The senior running back had his best game numbers wise against St. Cloud Apollo, rushing for a season-high 188 yards, averaging 12.5 yards per carry. Schmidt also added three TDs to the stat sheet. He scored two of his TDs in the first quarter, including a 57-yard run, and added his third touchdown in the second quarter as the Tigers won 41-6.

Reese Turner, Chaska. The senior running back rushed for a season-high 235 yards against Orono, scoring a pair of fourth quarter TDs in the win. His 70 and 34-yard scores extended the Hawks' lead as they went on to win 35-10.
