Top performer candidates

Aaron Boarman, Holy Angels. The senior quarterback accumulated over 350 total yards in the Stars’ 34-14 victory against Orono. Boarman completed 11 of 16 passes and threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard TD toss to open the game’s scoring in the first quarter. Boarman added 146 yards on the ground and two rushing TDs, averaging over 10 yards per carry.

Corey Bohmert, Mahtomedi. The Zephyrs relied on their senior running back for the majority of the team’s rushing yards and he delivered, scoring five TDs to lead the Zephyrs past Cretin-Derham Hall. Bohmert totaled 225 yards off of 17 carries in the 33-17 win. After scoring his first three TDs from within the red zone, Bohmert added an 81-yard score and 50-yard gallop into the end zone.

KhiJohnn Cummings-Coleman, Coon Rapids. The wideout put up monstrous numbers in the team's 28-14 win over Buffalo. Cummings-Coleman totaled 402 all-purpose yards and scored three of the four TDs for the Cardinals. The junior caught 11 passes for 286 yards, including a 77-yard TD catch and run. On special teams, Cummings-Coleman ran back a 93-yard kick return for a touchdown, and added a 23-yard punt return.

Max McEnelly, Waconia. The senior running back was tasked with nearly all of the Wildcats’ rushing attempts, taking 38 carries and totaling 260 yards on the ground. McEnelly scored his first touchdown mid-way through the first quarter to get the Wildcats on the board. Entering the second half tied 7-7, McEnelly scored three more TDs to lead the Wildcats to a 30-7 win.

Carter Reinbold, Mound Westonka. The first half of Mound Westonka's contest against St. Anthony was all White Hawks. The junior quarterback led a dominating half helping Mound Westonka secure a 35-0 lead at half. Reinbold recorded an 18-yard passing TD in the first quarter followed by a pair of rushing TDs in the second. He finished with 141 passing yards and 86 rushing yards to lead the White Hawks to a 49-20 victory against St. Anthony.

Gavin Schmidt, Elk River. With 20 points already on the board for the Elks late in the second quarter, Schmidt didn’t want to be left out. The sophomore recorded his first of three TDs on a 74-yard TD reception with less than three minutes to go in the first half. Schmidt converted on two rushing scores just two minutes apart in the fourth quarter, one of which was an 80-yard sprint into the end zone. Schmidt's 146 yards on the ground were enough to help the Elks cruise to a 67-35 victory over Andover.

Jaxon Schoenrock, Alexandria. The senior quarterback helped the Cardinals come back from a late 24-point deficit to defeat Bemidji 41-38. Schoenrock completed 28 passes for 364 yards and four TDs, two of which came in the fourth quarter, part of the team's rally into the closing frame.

Max Shikenjanski, Stillwater. The Ponies handily defeated East Ridge under the leadership of their junior quarterback. Shikenjanski completed 26 passes for 346 yards, connecting with two different receivers for four TDs. Jack Thome, St. Croix Lutheran. The running back led the offensive effort in the Crusaders’ 41-14 victory against Breck, scoring St. Croix Lutheran's first three TDs. Thome took a 21-yard carry into the end zone for the first score of the game, and tallied the next score on a 61-yard run. He scored his final TD later in the quarter, helping the senior total 202 rushing yards on 22 carries.
