We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Chaska vs. Chanhassen, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9. This is a border battle between two 1-0 squads. Both are in Class 5A, Section 2, along with reigning state champion Mankato West, so this game is rife with postseason seeding implications.

East Ridge vs. Stillwater, 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 9. This is a growing rivalry featuring two top-half Class 6A teams a year ago. East Ridge is coming off a loss to Eden Prairie, while Stillwater rallied to win 29-28 at Centennial.
