The Panthers gained two first downs on their next possession, including a 9-yard conversion by Aaron Clausen on a third-and-8, before Litke scored.

"We came out with a lot of energy, which was great," Litke said. "Toward the end, we kind of fell off. We didn't have our hopes very high. But we persevered, and that's what it's all about."

Spring Lake Park amassed nearly 300 first-half yards and benefited from Raiders turnovers on three of their first four possessions to build its 27-0 lead.
Litke, Clausen, Nick Ojile and Sehvion Taylor scored in the first half for the Panthers, who at one point had touchdowns on four straight drives.

But Cretin-Derham Hall found its offensive rhythm at the end of the first half, with Luke Floysand throwing a 20-yard touchdown pass to Sana Anetipa with 15 seconds to go. The Raiders then scored on three of their first four second-half possessions to make it a three-point game, but they were unable to get the ball back for a potential game-winning drive.

"We talk a lot about, 'You need to respond,' " Spring Lake Park coach John Stewart said. "[We] came out and did it. Guys decided, 'OK, we're going to take care of business.' "

Will Haider rushed for over 150 yards and three second-half touchdowns for Cretin-Derham Hall, which was playing its first game since moving to Class 5A.
The Raiders defense held Spring Lake Park scoreless on its first four possessions of the second half.

"The effort was there. [We] made some big plays, played with a lot of energy, but it was too little, too late," Cretin-Derham Hall coach Chuck Miesbauer said.
