6A seeds, pairings set for section matchups next Tuesday

Eden Prairie, Lakeville South, St. Michael-Albertville and Stillwater are the top seeds. Three teams won't play because of COVID issues.

Eden Prairie, Lakeville South, St. Michael-Albertville and Stillwater drew the top seeds in Class 6A postseason play set to begin Tuesday.

Twelve games are scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday. Winners advance to second-round games the following Saturday. The remaining eight winners will play on Nov. 27-28.

Here are the Class 6A first round matchups:

Roseville at Prior Lake
Hopkins at Totino-Grace
Lakeville North at Centennial
Burnsville at Wayzata
Mounds View at Blaine
Eastview at St. Michael-Albertville
Minnetonka at Woodbury
Anoka at Rosemount
Cretin-Derham Hall at Lakeville South
Osseo at Edina
White Bear Lake at Champlin Park
Eagan at Shakopee

The 31 teams in Class 6A are grouped into four sections. Those receiving first round byes in those sections are East Ridge, Eden Prairie, Farmington and Stillwater. Full brackets here.

The traditional state tournament concluding with the Prep Bowl was canceled this year amid COVID-19 virus concerns. COVID issues are preventing three teams in Class 6A -- Buffalo, Forest Lake, Maple Grove -- from playing in the postseason.
