Griffin Decker, Pillager. The senior led the Huskies’ best defensive performance this season as they allowed a single touchdown to Crookston. Decker had 15 tackles and three sacks in the Huskies' 30-6 win.

Top performer candidates

Nate Becker, Maple Grove. The Crimson defense narrowly missed shutting out Osseo, giving up a sole touchdown late in the fourth quarter of a 31-7 victory. Becker led the Crimson defense, making 15 tackles and a sack.

Jack Bungarden, Woodbury. A 20-14 loss to East Ridge was the Royals' second consecutive defeat by six points or fewer, but the senior linebacker had a career game. Bungarden nearly doubled his previous season high of nine tackles, finishing with a team-best 17. Six of those tackles were for a loss, including two sacks, and he had a fumble recovery.

Griffin Decker, Pillager. The senior led the Huskies’ best defensive performance this season as they allowed a single touchdown to Crookston. Decker had 15 tackles and three sacks in the Huskies' 30-6 win.

Nick Flaskamp, Minneapolis Southwest. The Lakers eked out a 17-14 win against Minneapolis Washburn as Flaskamp led the defense with 13 total tackles. Four of the senior's tackles were for a loss — the third consecutive game he’s done that — and he enters this week with 56 tackles through four games this season.

Karsten Tompkins, Burnsville. The junior led a Blaze defense that held Eagan’s offense to just one TD en route to earning their first win of the season. Tompkins recorded 13 tackles and forced two fumbles — recovering one — in the 35-7 victory.
